The construction of the classroom block, which will accommodate Nursery One, Two and Kindergarten (KG) One and Two pupils of the school, was funded by the Doscar Foundation.

The school was also provided with a well-equipped computer laboratory, a library, teaching materials, a teachers' common room and store.

The Group Chairman of Doscar Travel and Tours and Eurostar Global Limousines, a car rental company in Accra, Mr Oscar Doe, said the decision to build the school was also born out of a desire to create an enabling environment for the children in the community to acquire better education.

He said the formative stage of children’s development was critical that was why the foundation decided to focus its attention on that level of education.

"If children get a good foundation, they can pursue education to whatever level they wish; but if the foundation is weak, as, unfortunately, is the case for many children in communities such as this, then we cannot be sure that children are being adequately prepared to explore the empowering benefits of education later in life,” he noted.

He said the foundation had also sponsored a number of brilliant, needy students, some of whom were currently in junior high schools (JHSs), senior high schools (SSSs), and various universities in the country.

He also said the project was undertaken to honour his late grandmother who hailed from the village.

The management of the school expressed appreciation for the gesture and expressed optimism that it would go a long way to promote quality teaching and learning in the community.
