CIBT launches MBA programme in entrepreneurship

The Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT) has launched the third edition of its global Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme in impact entrepreneurship.

The programme, which is aimed at training graduates in career prospects and entrepreneurship opportunities was launched at an entrepreneurship forum, dubbed the “Global MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship.”

It is also aimed at finding answers to one of the country’s most persistent needs of job creation.

The forum attracted 284 participants, including entrepreneurs, diplomats, investors and key players of the entrepreneurial ecosystem who brought to bear their entrepreneurship experiences and discussed entrepreneurship issues in the country.

It was organised in partnership with the ALTIS, Postgraduate School of Business and Society of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan, Italy and the Royal Bank.

Speaking at the forum, a lecturer of the ALTIS Graduate School of Business and Society, Dr Fabio Petroni, said all the students who patronised the programme in the first and second editions were able to establish their own businesses and made significant advancement.

“60 per cent of the alumni who did not have any business before joining the MBA have all started new businesses,” he said.

Dr Petroni recommended the MBA program saying it was a unique platform to start or scale-up a business and therefore urged interested people to join the 3rd edition on October 24, 2015.

Hire right partners

The Chief Executive Officer of Charter House, Mr Philip Ayensu who shared 15 steps to his success with other entrepreneurs and participants at the launch, encouraged participants to partner or hire the right people who would not care about the got the credit.

He said entrepreneurs should not forget to document their ideas and business plans, adding that, that would protect their innovative ideas from being plagarised.

Royal Bank support

For his part, the Senior Vice President in charge of Business Development of the Royal Bank, Mr Kwame Annoh, who was also a mentor of the MBA programme said that the bank would continue to support the mentoring program of the MBA with seasoned mentors.

“The Royal Bank will not hesitate to support entrepreneurial ideas which will be economically viable and beneficial to the Bank, the country and the entrepreneur in particular,” he added.
