Christian Service University admits 122 students

The Christian Service University College (CSUC) in Kumasi has held its 39th matriculation for students who attend lectures at weekends.

A total of 122 students, including 54 females, were enrolled into the university to pursue various degree courses, including Business Administration, Computer Science, Theology, Humanities and Communication Studies.

Speaking at the ceremony on the theme, “CSUC@ 40 and Growing: Renewing our identity”, the President of the university, Prof. (Mrs) Frances Thelma Kwabia Owusu-Daaku, said the introduction of evening and weekend lectures was in line with the university’s commitment to make access to tertiary education flexible to workers and other interested students.

She urged the students to manage their time effectively, focus on their studies and also avoid examination malpractices, which could undermine the image of the university.

In his welcome address, Mr Asuamah Adade-Yeboah, the Dean of Students, said the university, which started from a humble beginning with less than eight students, could now boast about 2000 students, adding that the growth of the university was a result of total dedication on the part of both academic staff and students.

He called on the newly admitted students to abide by the regulations of the college to enhance its mission of training quality, selfless and dedicated people to help develop the nation.
