Central University College wins top international award

The Central University College (CUC) has been recognised with a nomination for Best University and its President, Professor Kwesi Yankah, nominated for the title of  Manager of the Year by the prestigious Europe Business Assembly (EBA).

The awards will be presented at this year’s Socrates Awards ceremony which is scheduled for October, 14, 2014 at the Oxford Town Hall, UK under the framework of Oxford Summit of Leaders “Science and Education, Innovative Models of Development.”

According to the Analytical Department and the Nomination Committee of the EBA, factors considered for the award nominations were staff qualification, introduction of modern forms of management, work experiences of staff and social projects involvement. Other factors considered include the level of presence in the mass media, the effectiveness of the corporate website and quotation in the national and international searching systems.

A statement issued by the university said the  nominations meant that the educational services offered by CUC met “international standards and have consistently high quality, winning fame at the regional and national levels”.

By this nomination, CUC will be included in the official register of leading enterprises and educational establishment by the EBA.

The title “Manager of the Year” which will be conferred on the President of the Central University College, Professor Yankah, the EBA noted, “is in recognition of your professional work in the structure of your educational establishment in Ghana, as well as personal contribution to the development of the national education system and the strengthening of the intellectual potential of the country.’’

The Socrates Awards given by the EBA is an ongoing promotion of the world elite, who through their hard work and exceptional business sense support exchange of ideas and experiences among the international community in areas such as economics, politics, education and culture.
