Central University College wins Head of State Excellence Award

The Central University College (CUC) has won the Best Academic Excellence Award at the National Gold Award and Head of State Ghana Business Awards 2015 held at the State Banquet Hall.

The ceremony was held to recognise exceptional commitments and excellence in sustainable business and the CUC won the prestigious award for rolling out the Most Innovative Academic programmes during the year under review.

The nominees out of which the CUC was chosen were the University of Ghana, Ashesi University College and other institutions.

The Minister of Education, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, presented the award to Mrs Rita Amoono-Mensah, the Head of Public Relations, who received it on behalf of the university.

The prestigious award, which was one of 20 categories presented at the 3rd annual award gala, was conferred on the CUC in recognition of impact, innovation, inspiration and youth development focus.

About CUC

The university, established in 1998 by the International Central Gospel Church, has graduated over 12,000 students in its 17 years of existence.

It has four schools and two faculties, namely School of Theology and Missions, the Central Business School, School of Applied Sciences, School of Research and Graduate Studies, the Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

The vision of the university is to develop effective transformational leaders who apply the principles of faith, integrity and excellence to overcome the challenges and demands of modern times and also serve as a positive influence on society.

The University College is headed by Professor Kwesi Yankah, who is also Chairman of the Council of Independent Universities.
