From Accra, Naa Lamiley Bentil reports that the examination took off smoothly at 8:30 a.m. at the centres she visited, with the candidates writing Oral English, the first core subject.
In all, 242,152 candidates, comprising 126,919 males and 115,238 females, are expected to write the examination at 809 centres in different parts of the country.

At the St Thomas Aquainas Senior High School, 367 candidates took part in the examination. Here too, the students were to write the paper in three batches.
