The implementation of the programme would be conducted under the auspices of the Enterprise Systems Education for Africa.

The cooperative agreement would have graduating students of the Sam E. Jonah School of Business of the AUCC receive free SAP-based training during their stay in the other institutions.

Furthermore, under the MoU, lecturers from the Sam E. Jonah School of Business will have the opportunity to go on study tours of the institutions. The Enterprise Systems Education for Africa project covers  a period of three years and was initiated by the University of Cape Town, with the intention of partnering about 10 universities in Sub-Saharan Africa, notably in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, Uganda and Botswana, as well as with other universities in South Africa.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic following the signing of the MoU, the Head of Information Systems Department at the University of Cape Town, Professor Lisa Seymour, said the ESEFA initiative would cut down the cost universities incurred when they brought in experts. He said the enterprise would also provide hands-on experience for students and heighten their chances of getting employed after school.

The Director of Stategy and Initiative at AUCC, Mr Garnet Prah-Arthur, mentioned that the Sam E. Jonah School of Business, which was coordinating the programme, was founded in 2010 and currently boasts a student population of 450, who are offering a four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

He expressed gratitude to the organisers and urged beneficiaries of the programme to take the interchange programme seriously.
