Inaugurating the building, the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Adom Botchway, said the government had made education a priority, hence its huge investments in that sector.

According to him, the government was committed to improving the standard of education in rural areas, adding that “the government will ensure that the disparity in the academic performance of students in rural areas and those in the urban areas would be bridged’’.

Advice to teachers

He urged teachers to make good use of the facilities being provided by the government in the educational sector to improve the academic performance of the students, particularly those at the basic level.

Mr Botchway also appealed to parents and guardians to pay regular visits to their children’s schools in order to be abreast of their performance.

He further advised members of the community to take keen interest in the maintenance of the school block so that it would be beneficial to future generations.
