Ahwoi Family rehabilitates Mankrong Basic School

The family of the Minister of the Interior, Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, has renovated the Mankrong D/A Basic School that was destroyed by rainstorm in April, this year.
The renovation involved roofing and painting of the affected classrooms.

The family hails from Agona Mankrong in the Central Region.

At a durbar of chiefs and people of the town to officially hand over the refurbished school to the Ghana Education Service and the community, Mrs Efua Bram-Larbi, on behalf of the family, stated that the renovation of the four-unit classroom block was part of the numerous contributions towards the development of their native town.

She said that the move was to provide a more conducive environment for the affected pupils to study and to enhance teaching and learning.

She encouraged the pupils to study hard and desist from activities that could jeopardise their success in future.

Mrs Bram-Larbi also advised parents to invest meaningfully in the education of their children as it was the only legacy they could leave behind for their children.

The Agona East District Chief Executive, Mr Martin Luther Obeng, commended the Ahwoi family for their efforts towards the development of the area.

He assured the gathering of the government’s commitment towards improving the living conditions of the people.

The chief of the town, Nana Ntsiful Abredu II, lauded members of the family for their efforts towards the progress of the town.

He said that the town could now boast an edifice made up of a post office, an ICT centre, a mini-bank for micro finance and a clinic, all made possible through the instrumentality of the Ahwoi family.

He appealed to the district assembly to include the schools in the town in the school feeding programme as well as construct a durbar ground for the town.

Present at the ceremony were Mr Ato Ahwoi, Mr Kwesi Ahwoi and other members of the family.
