‘Adepa’ Mathematics Series launched

Some students in the basic and senior high schools, as well as in the universities, tend to avoid studying Mathematics, although it is a subject students cannot avoid.
At the basic and senior high level, Mathematics is a core subject that one necessarily has to pass before one can move to the next level on the educational ladder.

To make the learning of the subject easy and friendly, a new book titled “Adepa Series” has been launched at the Salem Senior High School in Accra.

The book is different from others because it makes learning of the subject easier and provides solutions to some mathematical questions for readers to understand. The “Adepa series” also covers the full syllabus for SHS provided by the Ghana Education Service.

The author, Mr Richmond Addo, a teacher and a researcher at the Salem SHS, expressed the belief that with the addition of the “Adepa series” to those already on the market, SHS students in particular could easily pass core mathematics at the West African Senior High School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Launching the book, the Founder and President of Cord Family International and an agricultural and development consultant, Mr Edward Ackah-Nyamike Jnr., encouraged students to translate their ideas into actions to achieve successes for the country, adding that, “The author of this book, could not have published this book if he had kept his ideas to himself without taking the necessary actions”.

Mr Ackah-Nyamike Jnr, further urged students to make efficient use of the book to improve on their grades in mathematics.

In her address, the headmistress of the Salem Senior High School , Mrs Dora Millicent Amarquaye, said Mathematics had become a threat to the future of many students due to the resentment and fear they had developed for the subject.

She said the lack of suitable and concrete guidance in tackling mathematical questions had caused this problem, indicating that the book made a positive attempt to address the issue.
