Accra Poly Alumni Association gets executives

A six-member executive of the Accra Polytechnic Alumni Association has been inaugurated in Accra to steer the affairs of the association for the next four years.

They are: Messrs Cornelius Dzikuno, Chairman; David Ayisala, Vice Chairman; Seth N.D Dodoo, Secretary; Emmanuel Nyavor, Trustee; Mr Arnold Tipong, Public Relations Officer and Ms Joy Tetteh, Organiser.

At a brief ceremony last Thursday, the Rector of the polytechnic, Prof. Sylvester Achio, said with the depth of experience and knowledge of members of the association, they should help the polytechnic to achieve its goals.

He, therefore, charged them to come up with innovative ideas and programmes that would bring development to the institution.

A retired engineer and consultant, Mr Felix Safo, urged the executive “to accept their new responsibility with the highest sense of objectivity to help develop the school.”

“Accra Polytechnic can only get better, and the standards we all have set for ourselves would be reached in no time if we work hard,” he said.

Mr Safo further called on the executive to put measures in place to bring all alumni on board to contribute their quota to the development of the school.

Mr Daniel K. Adu, who chaired the function, said the role of alumni was important in the life of every educational institution.

He charged the membership to collaborate with the management of the institution to ensure its total development.

He also challenged them to make constructive suggestions from which students of the institution would benefit.

In his response, Mr Dzikunoo said members of the association were determined to push the school forward to an acceptable height.
