Out of the 242,162 candidates who wrote the examination, 68,062 of them, representing 28.11 per cent, made grades A1 to C6 in at least six subjects, including English Language and Mathematics (Core), and are, therefore, eligible for admission to tertiary institutions.

A statement signed by the Principal Public Affairs Officer, Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, explained that the council had already posted the results online and candidates desirous of knowing their results could access it at the WAEC website using a scratch card.

It also said the council was in the process of dispatching the results to schools and advised candidates to contact the heads of their former schools for their results.

Outstanding school fees

For candidates owing school fees, the statement said, “Once again, following a request from the Ghana Education Service (GES), the results of candidates who have outstanding school fees to settle cannot be accessed online at the council's website. The affected candidates can only access their results from their schools.”

Examination malpractice

On the issue of investigations into reported examination malpractices, the statement said the entire results of 321 candidates had been cancelled, while 1,994 candidates had the results of some subjects cancelled.

“Additionally, the entire results of candidates presented by 36 schools have been withheld while investigations into alleged examination irregularities are being conducted. The withheld results would be released as soon as the council concludes its investigations,” the statement added.
