10 children win tablets in Junior Graphic, Samsung promotion

Junior Graphic and Samsung have presented 10 children with Samsung Tablets made specially for kids for winning a special Christmas promotion organised by the Junior Graphic for its readers.

Mrs Mavis Kitcher, Editor of the paper said the aim of the Christmas package was to reward children who had over the years read the paper. She added that the  tablets would help them with their school work and also to explore the world around them.

Mrs Kitcher said for the Junior Graphic, education was prime and therefore saw reading and writing as paramount for all children.

The paper is therefore collaborating with Samsung to ensure that readers of the paper have access to such tablets, which are pre-loaded with e-books and educational and entertainment applications that would provide children with a variety of ways to practise literacy and problem-solving skills.

“Indeed, the paper promotes creativity among readers and since the tablets enable children to find creative outlets through artistic styled games, we believe the Junior Graphic would engage children who participate and win tablets for themselves profitably,” she said.

The editor said the paper joined Samsung for this special offer because the tablet offered a range of contents and applications designed to help and provide support for early childhood learning and exploration.

She said the paper would begin six puzzle pieces of the tablet and readers would be expected to cut the puzzle each week, solve the puzzle and answer questions on it.

“Children can then mail the solved puzzle pasted on a piece of paper, as well as answers to the questions to Junior Graphic/ Samsung Christmas Promotion,” she added.

Ms Tracy Kyei of Samsung said the tablets, which are known as Galaxy tab 3 Kids, come with a bright orange bumper rubber case designed to allow for easy gripping when children use them.

An amazing part of this tablet, she said, was a time management feature that allowed parents to set specific time period for use by children, stressing that this would not make parents worry about children spending too much time on the tablet.

Once the time set by the parents was up, a password protected lock screen would appear, requiring the parents to enter a password to unlock the tablet for further use, she added.

Without the parents’ consent, therefore, children cannot use the tablets for long hours.

Ms Kyei said children who would win the tablets would be exposed to technology available to users of the Galaxy-range tablets in terms of power, performance and exciting experiences.
