Sankofa tells the story of a pair of confrontational and argumentative professors of the University of Africa, Prof Hardy and Prof Danso, who believe their academic qualifications and intelligence give them the right to ride roughshod over everyone, including members of their own families.

Their sharp tongues and no-nonsense approach to life has caused a lot of damage to the lives of students unfortunate enough to be in their class and to the extent of affecting even their own children and spouses.

However, during their stay at the Oriental Hotel in Australia to present an award, they are taught a series of valuable lessons which cause them to soberly reflect on how their actions have affected the lives of others.

Uncle Ebo Whyte has made it a point to merge entertainment with social commentary and this is obvious in Sankofa.

Some themes explored in the play include the ills of the educational system and the dangers of parents pressuring their children to conform to their expectations.

The antics of the two professors, Prof Hardy and Prof Danso, are a delight to behold as they execute their roles to perfection.

The pair do a good job of portraying the rigid and unforgiving attitude the public has come to expect from authorities in academia.

Dear God Comma, Bananas and Groudnuts, Forbidden, Puppeteers and The Smarest Man aAive are some of the plays by Uncle Ebo Whyte and his Roverman Productions.
