Rompers are a style of clothes we see babies wearing all the time. A romper suit, or just romper, is a one-piece combination of shorts and a shirt worn both by children and adult women. Just like the jumpsuit, they are stylish, funky and simple to wear.

The major difference between a jumpsuit and a romper is that you cannot wear rompers to a formal event.  They are usually a casual style of dressing which does not befit the office environment.

Besides, if you are the type who doesn’t like exposing your legs then you have to go for a jumpsuit instead of a romper. With rompers, they are usually up to the knee or sometimes extremely short and that is why it is not appropriate for the office environment.

You can wear a romper to a picnic, beach, cocktail party, cinema for a date and other social places.

Rompers emerged in the United States of America in the early 1900s. They were popular as playwear for younger children because people thought they were ideal for movement. Rompers were in many ways the first modern casual clothes for children

Rompers appeared in the 1970s as a fashion for adult women, usually a casual garment made of terrycloth (terry cloth is a fabric with loops that can absorb large amounts of water) and often in a tube top style.

They were common in the 1980s in a wider variety of materials. Since 2006, rompers have enjoyed a minor renaissance as a fashionable garment for women.

Although rompers are seen as a causal apparel, you can throw a plain blazer on a floral romper to look chic and classy for a semi-formal outing. If you want to stay super casual, you can also wear large necklace and add a belt on it to look cuter.
