The topic this time around is: ‘Start-Ups: Is Fashion a Risky Business?’  Panellists slated for the event include Papa Oppong, a 2015 graduate of Radford University, as well as representatives from the Ghana Export and Promotion Authority and Stanbic Bank.

The Moderator for the 5.00pm programme is the Director of EA Media Productions, Ms Esther Armah. A video on Gutta Shoes will also be shown at the event.

Topics for FFG’s two previous panel discussions were, ‘The Legal Usage of the name Ghana in Fashion Identities and Branding’ and ‘Globalising Ghanaian Fashion.’

Meanwhile, the Fashion Forum Ghana founder, Ms Makeba Boateng, is the organisation’s representative on the recently inaugurated interim Creative Arts Council.

The council, whose inauguration was held at the Coconut Groove Regency Hotel in Accra last week by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, has been tasked to develop an appropriate legal and regulatory framework for promoting the creative industry in this country.

Also on the council are prominent personalities on the arts and culture front, including Mr Akunu Dake of Heritage Development Foundation, Mr Kwasi Gyan Apenteng of the Ghana Association of Writers and Capt. Nkrabea Effah Dartey of the Ghana Union of Theatre Societies.
