Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) is the leading and largest newspaper publishing and printing company in Ghana.

The company, through its newspapers, aims at improving lives through information and knowledge. It seeks to do this by achieving leadership in disseminating high quality information and other products.

It was established in 1950 as the West Africa Graphic Limited by the Daily Mirror  Group of newspapers in the United Kingdom headed by Cecil King.

In 1962, the Government of Ghana acquired the company, which was subsequently incorporated in 1965 as a statutory corporation and was converted into an autonomous limited liability company in 1999 with the state holding 100% shares. The name was subsequently changed to the Graphic Communications Group Limited.

It has since then distinguished itself as a credible organization in quality news presentation, to the extent that its flagship newspaper, the Daily Graphic, has become synonymous with the newspaper in Ghana.

The company has been responsible for the introduction of modern printing technology in the country. It was the first to introduce web offset and photo typesetting.  It now has a computerized editorial system and the most modern printing plant in Ghana,  providing scope for full colour production. Newspaper production is on a network of Mac computers, using industry-standard editorial and graphics software.

The company’s journalists have won the Journalist of the Year Award, the most prestigious on the Ghana Journalists Association annual honours list more times than any other media organization in Ghana. In 2005, the company also won the GJA award for producing newspapers with the best designs and layout. It is currently the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Media Organisation of the Year 2005.It won this same enviable award in 2004.
