‘Africa must plan to benefit from brain drain’
The Algerian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Youssef Delileche, has suggested that Africa must embark on a conscious policy to reap maximum benefits from the brain drain which has impoverished the continent of talented professionals and scientists.

Speaking during a courtesy call on him by a three-member delegation from the Board of Governors of the Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah African Genius Award, he said it was true that some of Africa’s best brains migrated to developed countries voluntarily in search of greener pastures because of weakened economies at home. It is however, also true that the developed countries set out deliberately to poach such best brains.
These African brains, he noted, were doing a tremendous job of helping in the scientific, technological, architectural and artistic leaps in these countries.
