Calvary Methodist Church celebrates 90 years

The Calvary Methodist Church at Adabraka in Accra, started when the Mfantse Korye Kuw, in Accra, brought together most Fantis working in the capital and their children to learn to speak, read and write Mfantse.

ol classes and this afforded the Akans the opportunity to worship in their own language as most of them “struggled” with the Ga language.

Some of the members were organised into a singing band under the baton of Mr T.G. Impraim, with Mr J. K. Nelson as organist. 

This marked the beginning of the Calvary Methodist Singing Band which later became the Calvary Methodist Church.
