The event will be the climax of the year-long 85th anniversary celebrations of the school launched in September last year.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Bleoobi Edward Doe Adjaho, is said to be in pole position to receive the flagship award of the Accra Academy -  Founders’ Platinum Award - at the bash.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Academy Old Boys Association, Bleoobi Nii Maale-Adsei, the Founders awards scheme has been categorised into Silver, Gold and Platinum, with Platinum obviously being the highest award.

He explained that the Founders’ awards scheme was established at the 70th Anniversary celebration to honour distinguished individuals who have shown keen interest and participated actively in the school’s affairs.

“The Platinum award is reserved for old students, parents, staff and associates of the school who have achieved stellar performance in any field of endeavour that impacts positively on the school,” Nii Maale said.

According to him, everything is set for a night of fun and glamour. He urged all Old Boys to grab tickets and take the fund-raising event seriously.

“That’s the only way we the old students can contribute to improve the inadequate but pressing needs of our Alma Mater,” he concluded.
