Yaba is Ghana's most beautiful

 

Last Sunday’s final of Season Ten of Ghana’s Most Beautiful was full of spectacular performances as VVIP, Galaxy and Kofi Kinaata took turns to thrill the excited audience.

It was VVIP who set the ball rolling for events of the evening as they treated the audience to hits from their repertoire including Skolom, Selfie and Alhaji.

They had the young people in the audience singing and dancing along throughout the time they were on stage.

Galaxy and Kofi Kinaata gave a good account of themselves when they took turns during the pageant with the latter getting everyone to sing along as he did tunes like Susuka and Sweetie Pie.

The night itself was for the five finalists who were vying for the car, the cash and the crown and when all was said and done, it was Yaba from the Western Region who walked away with the ultimate.

She was given a brand new 2016 model Suzuki Vitara, GH¢10,000, GH¢6,000 wardrobe and products from sponsors. Yaba also gets to keep the crown as winner of the tenth edition of the prestigious pageant.

Badu from the Ashanti Region took the fifth position and was given GH¢4,000 and sponsors products, GH¢6,000 and sponsors products went to Greater Accra’s Naa for taking the fouth position. The 2nd and 3rd positions went to Hiba from the Northern Region and Akos from the Eastern region who were given GH¢8,000 plus sponsors products and GH¢7,000 and sponsors products respectively.

Naa,Badu, Hiba, Akos and Yaba were first introduced in that order as they appeared in royal regalia after which the contestants did a beautiful choreography during which they exhibited their dancing skills.

It was during the talent hunt that the ladies showed everyone what they are made of with the need to ensure a peaceful elections running through almost all their presentations.

Akos was the first to appear in this segment with her ‘45 days to elections’ piece. She stressed that everyone has a role to play to ensure a peaceful elections from politicians, party supporters to polling agents.

Up next was Hiba who came as a nurse whose message was against mob justice. She said that some people argue that delayed justice lead to mob justice but that can never be justified. She ended her piece on a Peace Campaign and urged everyone to be part of her peace campaign.

Badu was a queenmother who settled a dispute between two couples who were fighting because they belong to different political parties. She urged them to let peace prevail and ended by singing Hen Ara Asaase Ni.

For Yaba, whose presentation started with violence among the youth, her message was that, as we approach December 7, let’s have one thing in mind - the interest of mother Ghana. She had everyone sing the National Anthem.

Naa used the opportunity to celebrate and honour her mum and sang Coat of Many Colours dedicated to her mum and all mothers.

The question and answer segment was quite smooth for all five contestants as they answered questions on tourism, illegal mining, Adinkra symbols, the national pledge and sustainable development goals.

Ghana’s Most Beautiful Season 9 winner, Esi, gave her message after which she was assisted by past contestants to cut the 10th anniversary cake.

The event was hosted by Gideon Aryeequaye and Emefa Adeti while regualr judges Linda Ampah and Kwame Karikari were joined by Claudia Lumor as guest judge.
