Volta MUSIGA looks ahead
The Volta Region chapter of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has held a general meeting in Ho at which the newly-elected executives were introduced to members.

A former national vice president of the union, Togbe Edinam Ansah, praised the new executives under the leadership of Mr. Anthony Dagbey, also known as ‘Tony D,’ for the enthusiasm with which they have started executing their mandate.
According to Togbe Ansah, Tony D promised during his campaign for the position that if elected, he would acquire an office for the regional union within three months.
“It came to me as a surprise that within just a month, Tony D fulfilled that promise by acquiring a modern office which is unprecedented in the over 30 years of MUSIGA’s existence in the region,” Togbe Ansah said.
A former regional chairman and recording engineer/producer, Raizo Lino also said he was impressed with the speed at which the new chairman and his team were working. He described them as real patriots.
Mr. Lino promised to make his recording studio available for projects to be embarked upon by the regional union.
The new chairman, Tony D, was happy that more than 60 musicians from across the region attended the meeting and described it as unprecedented. He advised members to continue to attend meetings in their numbers.
Tony D urged the region’s up-and-coming musicians to participate in the upcoming series of talent hunt shows slated to take off at Hohoe on Saturday, August 27.
He also asked musicians that hail from the region but are based in other places across the country to visit regularly and share ideas with those at home.
The talent hunt project will tour major towns in the region to select 12 artistes to be recorded free of charge. A performance tour of the region will also be part of the prize package for the winning musicians in addition to promotion of their work in the media.
