Training workshop for actors at Kanda Communiy Library

Manager of award-winning Ghanaian international actor, Abraham Attah of Beasts of No Nation fame, Mawuko Kuadzi will be hosting a workshop for movie stars at the Kanda Community Library on Saturday, October 1.

The 9am event aims to train actors, actresses and wannabes who want to learn the international standard of acting.

The  Actors’ Workshop is organised by MK Casting, Africa’s premiere casting agency which specialises in films, TV commercials, TV Series, Music videos and documentaries. 

Mawuko, who is a professional casting director and CEO of MK Casting, is known for the casting of Beasts of No Nation, the Netflix original film that starred Idris Elba and brought  Abraham Attah to fame. He was also the Casting Director for Out of the Village which has won 11 awards at various international film festivals, Farm House production’s Yolo TV series, High Life TV Series, Yankee Bound movie, Adowa documentary, Turkish Airlines Commercial and many more.

“There is a lot the Ghanaian film industry needs to do and I will avail myself to bring change to the film industry. This actors workshop is not for only beginners who want to act but everyone who wants to pursue acting or has an interest in acting. I would also be using this workshop to audition for new talents for two international movies I have been tasked to cast,” he said in an interview with Showbiz on Tuesday.

The goal of the workshop, he said is,  “to provide the most consistent training, comprehension and respect for the craft of acting. And I invite everyone to participate’. The workshop will focus on areas such as acting techniques, voice exercise, improvisation, scene work and anything else required in professional acting.

   Apart from being the manager of Abraham Attah, Mawuko also manages Strika and Kobina Amissah-Sam who played Abraham’s father in Beasts of No Nation. 

Mawuko Kuadzi, who recently returned from United States with Abraham Attah from Spiderman Homecoming set told Showbiz he is inspired by the excellence in Hollywood to improve the movie industry  in Ghana.
