Budding rapper, Chaminu Abubakar aka RawGee has slammed some seasoned Ghanaian musicians for not motivating up and coming musicians with their lyrics.
“Excuse my language but most Ghanaian musicians especially the rappers and reggae artistes don’t say any sensible thing nowadays and I wonder what they are teaching we the young ones” RawGee told Showbiz in an interview.
According to him, the likes of Lord Kenya and Obrafour were inspirations to young musicians in their days but that cannot be said of the artistes of today.
“We have a good number of musicians who are making hit songs but their lyrics are nothing to write home about.
“I am personally not motivated to do music when I listen to some of them. Lyrics of these musicians should change lives of individuals”, he added.
RawGee who is an old student of St. John’s Grammer is out with his first single Never Give Up which is a motivational song. It advises anyone going through any hardship or facing problems not to give up.
The young musician goes on to say that having problems should not be a reason for anyone to do crazy things.
Never Give Up is not a bad attempt for a beginner like RawGee who wants see himself grow to be like Obrafour and Lord Kenya.
“My intention of becoming a musician is to motivate and change lives of people through my music”, he said.
