Pop Chain concert at +233

Joy FM, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Accra-Airport, present the second edition of ‘The Live Band Pop Chain All-Star Concert’  tonight, September 24, at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill at North Ridge in Accra.

The concert is to raise funds to support Joy FM’s Sugar Project, which aims at creating awareness 0f the linkage between sugar intake and diabetes, a disease caused by high blood glucose or blood sugar.  The project also seeks to encourage people to change their lifestyles.

The concert will take patrons back to the days of student pop chains, where schools such as Achimota, St Augustine’s, Mfantsipim, St Johns, Aggrey Memorial and Adisadel had excellent bands that featured at various shows.

Guest artistes slated for tonight’s 4p.m. show include singer-guitarists Nana Gabby Nketiah of Avengers fame and Tomi Darling, who led the famous Barbecues band. Singer Paulina Oduro, will also be in action.

Some of the known names from the pop chain era, including Bessa Simons and Ben Brako, are expected to pass through.
