The wife of the actor, Beatrice Nkansah, who is by his side after the procedure confirmed to Starrfmonline.com that there were no complications after the surgery.

She said, “My husband successfully underwent the open-heart surgery at the National Cardio-thoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and he is currently responding to treatment, we are now waiting for a couple of tests to be run so the doctors can discharge.

"My husband needed $20,000 for the surgery and Ghana heart foundation took $10,000 and the rest was catered for by Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, Leader and Founder of Glorious Waves Church International”.

Jaga Pee has been troubled by the illness over the last few months and made an appeal to President John Mahama to help him fund the cost of the surgery.

It would be recalled that Jaga Pee was charged alongside musician, Geeman, in 1995 after a shooting incident at the CFC Flats, Dome in Accra, which led to the death of a taxi driver.

Geeman was sentenced to death while Jagga Pee got a life sentence but was granted amnesty by former President John Agyekum Kufuor in commemoration of the country’s 48th independence anniversary.

He made a comeback to television screens in the hit series "Chorkor Trotro".
