According to Glo Mobile Ghana officials, the Slide n Bounce concerts are a precursor to the arrival on the Ghana market of another innovative product from the network’s vast bouquet of frills and freebies.

Internationally - acclaimed musicians like P. Square, Jude Abaga (aka MI), Wande Coal  and Burna Boy from Nigeria will perform alongside Ghanaian acts like  Edem, Kwabena Kwabena, Asem, Efya and Paapa Yankson at the shows.

This first phase of the  Slide n Bounce engagements in Ghana will take place in  Kumasi,  Accra and Takoradi.

Mr Akeem Kazeem, Head of Business at Glo Mobile Ghana, told journalists at a ceremony at the Accra Mall that the Slide n Bounce concerts were being introduced in Ghana as a token of appreciation for the loyalty of Glo’s prepaid customers.

“We have just entered the last quarter of 2013 and as we prepare to take stock of our relationship with our customers and other stakeholders, we deem it appropriate to salute and celebrate their unflinching loyalty and the support we continue to enjoy from the general public,”  Mr Kazeem said.

“There’s no better  way to demonstrate our appreciation than to offer a cultural platform which submerges the drudgery and pressures of daily life and invigorates us through music and social interactions.”

The Glo fun train will  make its first stop in Kumasi  on Saturday, November 9. The train will travel to Accra  on November 16 for the second concert. Takoradi  will host the last leg on November 23.

All the three concerts will be open to the general public but admission shall be based strictly on a simple usage plan on the Glo network in which subscribers are required to recharge their Glo lines with a minimum of GH¢5.00 either cumulatively or at once, between today and the dates slated.

After  recharge, the subscriber may then text the name of the city in which he intends to attend the concert to the special short code - 5301.

Glo officials explain that customers in the Ashanti Region wishing to be at the Kumasi Slide n Bounce concert have between now  and November 3 to recharge a minimum of GH¢5.00 and send the word “Kumasi” to the short code “5301.”

People in the Accra Metropolis wishing to attend the Accra concert on November 16 must recharge GH¢5.00 or more and text “Accra” to the short code 5301 between  now and November 10.

Subscribers in Sekondi-Takoradi and other parts of the Western Region have from now till November 17 to text “Takoradi” to the short code 5301.

Officials explain that qualified subscribers will immediately receive a confirmation SMS inviting them to the  concert of their choice.

Such persons or subscribers would be required to show their invitational messages at the gates to receive Slide n Bounce armbands for access to the concert grounds.

Since the Glo Slide n Bounce concerts are intended to be enjoyed by all Ghanaians, persons not on the Glo network  but who do not want to be left out of this exciting experience can still join in the fun by simply  porting their numbers to the Glo network,” Mr Kaseem added.
