Ghanaian music to shake London

Different styles of Ghanaian popular music will boom from London’s famous 02 Arena when acts like Kaakie, Kwabena Kwabena, Gasmila, Jupita, Stonebwoy and E.L. mount the stage at the Ghana Music Week (GMW UK) bash.

Also expected to perform at the four-hour celebration of Ghanaian music on December 30 are Mista Silva, Skinny Legend and Kwamz & Flava.

“A big buzz is circulating in London about the concert date which had to be postponed from October to December for purely technical reasons. Everything have now been sorted out and we expect a big turnout on that big one-night-only bash,” said Verus Nartey, Executive Director of the Ghana Music Week Festival.

Ms Angela Kpongkpong Padi, Communications Officer at the Ghana Music Week Secretariat, also said the GMW-UK concert and all other Ghana Music Week activities held elsewhere in the world have an ultimate goal of creating awareness for the main festival in Ghana in March 2017.

The GMW UK concert is being organised by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Fantasy Entertainment and Showbiz Africa in collaboration with the Ghana High Commission in the UK, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Base Group, Alordia Promotions and Akwaaba UK.

The show is sponsored by Unibank, JL Properties Ghana, Unity Link and British Airlines with support from Precious Classic Ltd.
