Although the group has been one of the most consistent on the music scene for almost five years, 2016 was the year where the group scored numerous breakthrough singles including Bokoboko, Holla at Me, Papa Bi, Dab as well as two nominations at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The nominations which were announced by Charter House, the organisers of the awards scheme saw the group nominated for "Best Group" together with heavyweights such R2bees, Dunsin and VVIP in the same category

The Dab hitmakers also made entry into the 'Reggae/Dancehall song category with Gborgborvor featuring Stonebwoy.

This is the first time the duo has been nominated for the Reggae/Dancehall category and second time they have been nominated for the "Best group" after losing out to VVIP last year.

Speaking to Showbiz on Friday, the Harbour City Recordz artistes said last year was highly successful judging by the number of chart topping songs as well as appearances on some of the biggest shows and events in the country.

“Last year was incredible because of how successful we were and how much visibility and mileage we had. We played most of the major shows in the country and had the opportunity to embark on a nationwide tour,” they said.

Talking about their nominations, Gallaxy said despite being excited at the two nominations, they believe they deserve to be nominated for even more.

Gallaxy said their expectations are to win the ultimate laurels in all the categories they have been nominated but they are aware of the stiff competition they come up against.

“Receiving the two nominations are a testament to the work we did last year. We are keeping our fingers crossed to win but we know we are up against some very stiff competition,” they said.
