The facility is part of the Portion’s Group of companies which comprise of Portions Estate, Portions Travel and Tours and Portions Recruitment Agency.
In an interview with Mr. Michael Acheampong, CEO of Portions Group, he said the idea to establish Portions Bar & Motel in Ghana came when he relocated to Ghana after his stay in East London, where he owned and operated a Portions Bar.
“During my stay in London, I knew at the back of my mind that I could not stay there forever. I knew I had to come back to my country, establish a business which will employ people and boost the economy as well,” he said.
Portions Bar and Motel is a multi-faceted facility which includes a Bed and Breakfast upstairs, a restaurant with a sitting capacity of about 150 downstairs, a front terrace capable of seating about 80 people and a lounge which is reserved for event bookings.
“Our Bed and Breakfast facility is open to patrons who want to enjoy either a long or short stay. Our English breakfast is always a huge favourite with our lodgers and non residents. Our huge car park and CCTV cameras ensure the safety and comfort of our clients and visitors.
Throwing more light on Portions Bar and Motel, Mr Acheampong told Showbiz Fridays are peak nights where patrons are treated to quality live band music.
“Besides our in-house live band, we also invite some of the biggest Highlife artistes such as Kofi Nti, Kofi B among others to perform sometimes,” he said.
“Our lounge is reserved for bookings for events, parties and other entertainment events and our huge space means we are capable of seating a large number of people comfortably,” he said.
Unlike other facilities which target a specific clientele, Mr Acheampong said Portions Bar & Motel is open to all members of the public irrespective of the size of their wallets.
“We are not an expensive place so we are open to everyone. Our meals and drinks are affordable and we try to meet the pockets of whoever decides to walk through our doors; we welcome everyone,” he said.
He added that Portions Bar & Motel also caters for corporate clients at very generous discounts as well as food orders for individuals.
According to Mr Acheampong, golf enthusiasts will feel especially at home at Portions Bar & Motel considering the large numbers of golfers from the Achimota Golf Club and other golf clubs who frequent the venue.
“I play golf myself and most of my friends do so too so it is common on many nights to meet many of the golfers here such as the number one golfer in West Africa as well as some of the guys from the Achimota Golf Club.
“We have very friendly staff who are here at your service and couple with our live band music, one can expect nothing but the best of service. Nights here are very exciting and special and it is something you have to experience for yourself,” he added.
