Amewode is an experienced trombonist and has played with several top-notch acts like Amakye Dede, Ebo Taylor, Akablay, Afro Moses, Becca, Hugh Masekela and Richard Bona.

Apart from his session work, he is a recording artiste in his own right. His six-track Jazz Desperados album came out late last year to a warm reception from Afro-jazz fans. Eli is expected to play items from it at the Piano Bar gig.

For the upcoming 8.00pm concert, he would be in the company of accomplished hands such as American vibraphone player, Onaje Murray; Nigerian pianist Funsho Ogundipe and Togolese singer/songwriter, Adjo’a Sika.

“They are all wonderful musicians and good friends I have played with at different times. They are coming to support for a memorable concert for the Piano Bar patrons,” Eli told Showbiz.

His music is a blend of rousing Ghanaian and African rhythms with hard core jazz elements.

“We are set to dish out some hot stuff for jazz and Afro-fusion lovers and we will keep the venue blazing for at least three hours,” the trombonist said.
