South African Airways (SAA), the official partner for Citi FM’s Robben Island Experience,  has described the tour as a unique opportunity to tell the African story at a time that African history is attracting a global audience.

The Country Manager of South African Airways, Gloria Yirenkyi said that patrons of the Robben Island Experience would be investing in a valuable venture, as they would be exposed to the heritage and legacy of one of Africa’s icons, Nelson Mandela.

“People travel far and wide to Robben Island just to listen to the very inspiring stories and the legacy or struggles that Nelson Mandela embodies and went through. It is a good education and for anyone to invest in this kind of activity, I think he or she will find value in that kind of investment,” she remarked.

She said that the legacy of South Africa’s first black President, Nelson Mandela, could best be told with a first-hand experience.

“It is good for Africans especially now that Nelson Mandela is no more if we have to carry out the legacy and history; we need to expose people to Robben Island to get to hear of that story first hand.”

“On the continent, in South Africa Cape Town you will be very impressed and excited and South African Airways is the carrier of choice to take you there,” she stated.

Commenting on the motivation to partner with Citi FM on this memorable experience, the Country Manager for the South African Airways explained: “For us at SAA, our aim is to be able to collaborate with any entity that comes up with such a brilliant initiative to expose the country further to more people in Ghana so that they can discover a holiday destination in Africa.”

The Marketing Manager of Robben Island, Nomonde Ndlangisa, on Citi TV, was confident that patrons of this year’s Citi FM Robben Island Experience would encounter one of the most memorable times of their lives. She stated that the tour of the historic Island was tailor-made to bring ultimate amusement to the participants and would simply be unforgettable.

The trip which is meant for persons 18 years and above comes off from September 20-27, 2016.

Among the exciting packages for participants are visa fees, flight expense, five star hotel accommodation, inland transportation as well as breakfast and dinner.

Meanwhile the major tour sites for the Robben Island Experience are the Robben Island, the Table Mountain, Cape Town City, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront as well as Cape Point.
