BSIFF takes off today

The maiden edition of the Black Star International Film Festival started this morning with an opening ceremony at the Silverbird Cinema, Accra Mall.

The Executive Director of the festival, Ms Juliet Asante, told Showbiz that all is set for the festival and her team have worked around the clock to ensure a successful event.

According to Ms Asante, screening started this morning at the Silverbird Cinema, Accra Mall with the opening movie, Nakom a Ghanaian production. Screening will go on the whole day till 9pm at the Silverbird Cinema.

“There will also be screenings at James Town, Brazil House from 11am till 6pm and continue at Old Kingsway from 6pm till 9pm after which a get-together or after party will take place,” she said.

Screenings will continue tomorrow at the same venues with a drive-in cinema at the Black Star Square from 6pm till 2am. There will also be panel discussions at the African Regent Hotel all day.
