Wizzy and Kento premiere ‘Besty’ video

Music fans in Winneba and its environs in the Central Region will be treated to an exciting live band session by Joe Wizzy and Kento when the duo premiere their ‘Besty’ video on Friday, July 28 at  the Run-Off Restaurant & Bar at Winneba Junction.

Joe Wizzy is a Hiplife and Hiphop artiste serving a second term as the Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). Kento is a Highlife and Afropop artiste and leader of the eight- piece, The Project Band based at Winneba.

Wizzy is a rapper and Kento sings. The two young men are collaborating to produce an album and ‘Besty’ is the second single from their camp after the highly successful ‘Good Over Evil’ track.

Produced by Dr Ray Beatz, ‘Besty’ is an up-tempo piece with a romantic love theme and the song constantly refers to a female with an ‘irresistible, sexy, romantic, fantastic, fine body.’ The piece is geared toward getting the listener to dance and the consistent drum pattern serves as the perfect pull.

“We tried to create a feel-good aura around the song so people can move their bodies to it. We’ve been in some clubs where it was played and we were bowled over by how people grooved to it,” said Wizzy.

The duo often offer live renditions of their songs at events and they see tomorrow’s programme as another opportunity for the public to have a taste of their vibrant stage presence.

“Live band music has bounced back quite nicely and we are keen to help uphold it. That’s because it is one of the important elements for the development of the music business here,” Kento pointed out.

The ‘Besty video was directed by Steve Gyamfi.
