Watch out for Calista

She may not be the first child to toe her father’s line of profession but Calista is eleven years old and she is already living her dream as a rapper. Calista, the daughter of musician, Quophi Okyeame is out with her debut single, I Can Make It which features Maame Esi of Talented Kids fame.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Quophi Okyeame, I Can Make It talks about the need for everyone to believe that he or she can make it in life.

The two budding musicians did well on the song which sees Calista advising kids to stay focused and be obedient to the elderly. She also raps about how she intends to be a great person through hard work.

Maame Esi who sings the chorus comes in the third verse praising God for His wonders.  She goes on to say Jesus is able to provide her needs and so she will testify of His goodness.

Speaking in an interview with Showbiz, Calista, born Calista Music Ama Adoma Amoateng, says the feedback after the release of I Can Make It is very positive making her believe she would make good strides on the rap scene.

According to her, she is enjoying the praise of being the youngest female rapper and hopes to ride on that for greater prospects in her music journey. She added that she will be releasing a lot of singles before the year ends.

Her father, Quophi Okyeame who wrote the song said he believes in her daughter’s dream to become a musician hence, the decision to assist her release her debut song.

“I am willing to push my daughter to the highest level because I know the talent she has” he told Showbiz.

He boasted about his daughter’s rap skills and called on the “big shots” to wach out for Calista.
