Medikal recently dropped his debut album, DISTURBATION, and says the album is for all those who love his music because the songs on the album talk about his life.
In an up close interview with the star, he said “DISTURBATION is about my life. I want my fans to know who I am; the struggles I’ve had to go through, my happy times and of course my sad moments.”
What inspires Medikal to write the kind of songs he writes? According to him, it’s God who gives him life and strength to live every day and be creative.
“I also get inspiration from the experiences I have had. You know how difficult it is for a young artiste to get air plays and get the kind of opportunities and climb up to the top. He says the struggles his mum and sister, as well as himself have gone through in life are all examples.
“Basically, I write the songs for young people who I know relate more to my music so that they don’t give up in life. They should not be lazy and think that they would get things on a silver platter. I want them to learn from my experiences and know that if they study and strive hard they would be able to achieve their dreams,” he added.
Born Samuel Adu Frimpong, Medikal says his philosophy in life is – don’t expect anything and you won’t be disappointed.
About his love life, he says he is currently in a relationship with Sister Derby, another talented GH songstress and confirms that the relationship is pretty serious and will result in nuptials very soon.
Being one of Ghana’s fastest rising and youngest hip hop artiste who is signed under the AMG Record Label, Medikal has released a couple of hit songs including Confirm, Forever My Love (featuring Bisa Kdei), Confirm Remix (featuring Sarkodie), By Heart Boy, Connect, Too Risky (feat Sister Derby) and Bless You.
At the 2017 Ghana Music Awards, he had seven nominations and in the 2016 MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards, he won the Best Discovery Video of the Year Award.
