Sarah Acheampong sings ‘Wabre Me Ho’
It took a while for the Tema-based gospel singer, Sarah Acheampong, to get into a studio to record songs for her debut album but now that it is out, she believes she can only soar higher and higher on the wings of her winsome voice and meaningful lyrics.

Her eight-track ‘Wabre Me Ho’ on the MKD Records label, was recorded and mixed by Kobby Rey and Say What at Full House Studios, Dawhenya near Tema in the Greater Accra Region.
The songs, seven in Akan and one in English, embrace Highlife, Reggae and slow worship pieces. No matter the tempo, they all generally encourage Christians to hold on firmly to their faith because there is definitely a time to smile after the tribulations.
She tries to offer different flavours on the album so those who want to dance, for instance, can pick on ‘Wabre Me Ho’ or ‘Efata Wo’ while those opting for slow, soothing stuff can pick on ‘Mekase Woye’ or ‘Ohen Kesee.’
To her, God’s abundant grace has worked wonders in her life and others she knows well so it is always worth singing His praise.
Sarah hosts a morning devotion programme on Atinka FM on Fridays. She says her interaction with listeners has convinced her that music is a powerful tool for pulling people to God and anyone with the ability to use it must never relent.
“There are so many gospel singers but they all have their fans. Each one has a blessing that brings followers and I urge them all to stand firm and keep uplifting God through music,” she says.
Sarah has performed on several television stations across the country and is a familiar face in many churches as well. She has an annual inter-denominational worship programme and this year’s has been slated for October, after which she would release a couple of new singles.
Her drem is to become a household name on the music scene and trusts it would happen by hard work and God’s grace.
