Meet Gospel rap trio, The Kings Crew

Even though Gospel HipHop is not too popular in Ghana,  The Kings Crew trio still manage to create beautiful inspiring songs by blending rhythmic music and faith based lyrics to spread the word of God to their fans and listeners.

After releasing singles like Vidi, I Am a Priest, Omaale & Veni just to name a few, The Kings Crew are set to release their debut album titled Bleeding Royalty.

The trio made up of Clericus, Chara and Kray love for making music came about as a result of the passion to spread the word of God among the youth. They decided to do it in a different form and that’s when they discovered their musical talents.

They told Showbiz, “Music started for us in senior high school. It was by prophecy because we were not musically inclined by that time  let alone the  thought of doing it someday but we started listening to music together and when we played around rapping to beats, we realised we actually sounded good together although each of us had his own unique style”.

The Kings Crew take inspirations from Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Gemstones among others. The Kings Crew album which has majority of its songs produced by Lexyz will be released in 2017.

When asked about problems they face in the industry so far they told Showbiz, “The industry is not friendly to young new artistes spreading the word of God especially and also because our style is not a very popular genre here, some people do not understand our craft but hopefully with time they will support us”, they added.
