Live FM celebrates GH musicians monthly
In a bid to support the craft of Ghanaian musicians, Accra-based radio station, Live FM is giving artistes an opportunity to showcase their music prowess via a new programme dubbed Live Artiste of the Month.

Live Artiste of the Month which is an extension of an already existing show called GH Wednesday Live will see a number of artistes battle through series of tasks to emerge a monthly champion.
The winner of the monthly contest goes home with the bragging rights, earns extensive promotion of his or her works and a headline performance at a show powered by the Adabraka-based station.
Throwing more light on this initiative, Antoine Mensah, Programmes Manager of Live FM said, it is the station’s way of appreciating the deeds of Ghanaian artistes as well as giving up and coming ones an avenue to showcase their works.
“Live Artiste of the Month is an extension of GH Wednesday Live, our initiative to support the craft of Ghanaian artistes. We want to celebrate them for their trend-setting, creative and innovative abilities. The initiative would also help give up and coming artistes the needed commercial buzz, and also a breadth of fresh air for the music industry,” he said in an interview with Showbiz.
Contestants would be selected based on a number of factors among which are their influence on the Ghanaian music scene, on-air and online buzz about a single, an album or a mixtape.
It also includes if the artist has made an international impact of a sort, performed at festivals or gained nominations at international award schemes during the time under review which is four weeks prior to the selection.
According to Mensah, the winner of the monthly initiative would be decided solely via votes on the station’s website, www.livefmghana.com.
