Perhaps, the success stories of his Naija brothers such as Patoranking and Flavour who plied their music trade in Ghana inspired him, thus, Ghana based Nigerian artiste, Iyk Wonder is stopping at nothing to become relevant on the Ghanaian music scene.

He started his music journey with the release of African Light earlier this year. He followed it up with Supa Bet and that he said, gave him the needed recognition to “launch my full time music career”.

And to stay true to his word, the young man who hails from Abra State in Nigeria and currently signed to KB Empire Record label has released Plenty Wives.

“The industry is no doubt competitive and as a foreigner, I need to work harder to be accepted and I believe Plenty Wives, which is quite funky and danceable will shoot me to fame. I have studied the music scene and I know Ghanaians will love it,” he told Showbiz in an interview on Friday.

Polygamy is a cultural practice that has long existed in Africa but Iyk Wonder explores its disadvantages in Plenty Wives rendered in Igbo and Ewe which features Edem.

With an upbeat tempo which is sure to get any listener on the feet, the duo bring their different music tastes to bear on the song.

Iyk Wonder proved his singing potentials on African Light and Supa Bet and one could testify that his voice is an asset on Plenty Wives.

While he admits that men have the option of marrying more than one woman in the African culture, Iyk Wonder believes that the practice has rather bred poverty since most polygamists don’t have the means to support their large families.

Edem comes in to rap in Ewe about the need for African men to appreciate the meaning of love and treat their partners right.

Born Isaac Ambrose, Iyk Wonder hopes to attract the warm reception of Ghanaians as he makes his way to stardom after being featured on a number of songs including Kwaw Kese’s Masa Abeg and Guru’s Baba God.
