FaReed: I want to be ‘baddest’ Hausa rapper

 

He has been trying to find a strategy to make himself unique and rapper, FaReed, believes rapping in his native language Hausa will do the magic.

“There are not many rappers rapping in Hausa and I want to make a mark as the ‘baddest’ Hausa rapper in Ghana. I have so far recorded some ‘crazy’ songs in Hausa and very , Ghanaians are going to have a feel of me” he told Showbiz.

And to start that journey, Fareed, real name, Mohammed Fareed, is out with his latest single, Hip Hop Alhaji recorded by sound engineer, Peewezel.

On the track, Fareed raps about how good he is and the fact that he has no competitor in what he does. 

He praises himself as the emerging rapper who will take Hausa rap international adding that his punch lines are wicked and straight to the point. 

He goes on rap about how difficult it was for him starting his music career and how he intends to make himself relevant to Ghanaians with his rap skills.

 Speaking with Showbiz in an interview last week,  FaReed said he wants Ghanaians to give him a listening ear to know what he has to offer.

“There are so many good rappers in Ghana but I wish Ghanaians would just pay attention to me and know what I have for them. Apart from my latest single, I am promoting, I have very good songs I will be releasing soon” he said.

Known for the songs I Wanna Rap and  Bardman, FaReed who admires international musicians Eminem, Bob Marley and Sean Paul has mounted  platforms such as Ghana Hi-Skul Entertainment Awards at the National Theatre in 2012 and DJ Black’s Cypher.

Coming from a family of musicians, FaReed started his music career by performing Obrafour’ Yaanom in his primary school days.

According to him, he started doing mix tapes and occasionally released it on social media but he put a stop to it because he was not making any money.  

FaReed thanked his management team headed by Kwesi Amoako for helping him get to where he is now.

A graduate of University of Professional Studies, Accra(UPSA)majoring in Business Administration, FaReed plans working with some of the big musicians in Ghana.
