The artiste who rose to fame with his Kill Me Shy in 2010 showed his versatility on Alarm, a Dancehall inspired song which talks about his “money dusted” lifestyle despite not being at the greatest height of his career.

For one who has championed his own music genre, Twi Pop since the days of Kill Me Shy, it is not surprising that even with a Dancehall ‘flavoured’ rhythms, D.Cryme preferred to ‘ragga’ in Twi.

“It has always been my style to rap in Twi and so when I decided to try a different genre, I still maintained my Twi language which promotes my heritage.

“ I’m the originator of Twi Pop which depicts all the different genres I do and so I needed to put my signature on Alarm rather than resort to a language that my followers can’t relate to,” he told Showbiz in an interview last Friday.

A mid tempo song produced by Mix Masta Garzy, Alarm is an interesting piece about the “unseen” lifestyle of an artiste who is enjoying all the glitters that comes with such a status.

However, his efforts to be relevant despite the many challenges has drawn criticisms from his “envious competitors”.

To prove to such persons that he is not a failure, D.Cryme brags about how he goes to the bank every day and even has a  “breaking  news “ for them on the release of his new Range Rover.

Jesse Jags’ delivery on the song is commendable as his vocals and presentation added to the great composition of Alarm which many Dancehall lovers would appreciate.

“Both my loved ones and those who don’t want my good listen to my music so my songs must have messages that both groups can relate to,” he said about the song.

The video of Alarm which was shot and directed by Skyface was released last week.

D. Cryme, real name, Darlington Kwesi Agyekum hit the limelight with his debut single Kill Me Shy in 2010.

He followed it with his first album titled, Finally Finally. His second album, The Gift is slated for release in November.
