Akpabli, Damoah host Elizabeth-Irene Baitie

Guest reader at the 5.30pm session which the writers call ’Tickling Legon with Nsempisms,’ is award-winning Ghanaian author, Elizabeth-Irene Baitie.

She is expected to thrill the university audience with readings from her works such as ‘A Saint in Brown Sandals’; ‘The Twelfth Heart’; ‘The Dorm Challenge’ and ‘Rattling in the Closet’.

Awards Elizabeth-Irene Baitie has won for her novels include the Macmillan Writer's Prize for Africa and the Burt Award.

She becomes the third guest reader in the ‘Dakpabli Readathon,’ series, having been preceded by Alba Sumprim and Dr. Ruby Goka.

The campaign by the two authors promotes book reading for pleasure as well as local authorship. Apart from the reading events in Accra, the team has also been to Kumasi, Ho and Tema.

It hopes to be in Takoradi in April.
