One huge dining blunder

Anytime I talk about importance of people knowing how to eat properly with such ‘weapons’ as forks and knives, some of my friends simply don’t understand me at all.

They keep telling me that we are Ghanaians and for that matter, are under no obligation to muster the art of cutlery usage at table.

I agree with them to some extent. But you may never know when the occasion would call for your use of such cutlery in public.

Using cutlery properly at table is a matter of training, and until one is able to constantly practice this act, one would be found wanting – just like the gentleman who caused me much harm yesterday afternoon.

I had a launch date with Rukiyatu, my friend who works in Techiman, but who is on an official assignment in Accra. Her choice of eatery was one located in the quiet environs of Cantonments.

So by 12.45p.m., I had picked her from the guest house where she had lodged, enroute to our rendezvous.
