This is because the phone had certain features which were unique to it and were not present in other smartphones on the market.

Mr Kojo-Ganson said the acquisition of the 4G license two years ago made it possible for the company to become the first mobile network operator to offer 4G service in the country, noting that it was an attitude which defined the company’s focus on exploiting the benefits of data and information and communication technology (ICT) services for customers.

“The launch of the Fero L100 is another entry point in affordable smartphones that allow MTN subscribers to experience the bold new digital world tagged as the game changer for mobile phones that support 4G, Fero L100 is superfast and comes with remarkable features at an incredible price,” he said.

Mr Kojo-Ganson emphasised that MTN was committed to leading the mew digital world in the country by continuing to roll out innovative products and programmes to change the face of technology in Ghana.

“This year alone, we have earmarked $143 million to fund network expansion and optimisation in addition to 197 4G sites to the 475 4G sites already deployed nationwide,” he said.

He urged Ghanaians to patronise the new product to experience the new trend of technology as well as experience all the good things 4G offered to customers.

The Chief Executive Officer of Fero Phones, Mr Sandeep Narayana, said the company was pleased to enter such a partnership with MTN Ghana.

He said the Fero L100 comes with a free-data bundle for six months from MTN, adding that there would be an after sales service at all MTN shops with a 12 months warranty.
