Vanguard celebrates mothers in P31 promo

Four outstanding mothers have been rewarded in the Vanguard P31 Mother’s Day promotion.

The ultimate winner, Mrs Angela List, will receive an air ticket to Dubai. The second place will enjoy a one-night stay in any first-class hotel, while the third winner received a free one-year vanguard home insurance policy. The fourth winner receives a consolation prize.

At the awards ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the company, Dr Gideon Amenyedor, said the promotion was to reward outstanding mothers who had shown love to their children as a way of encouraging them to keep it up.

“For us at Vanguard, we know the value of a great mother and that was the inspiration for us. We treasure customers because they are very important to us. We have ladies who are customers of Vanguard and we cherish all of them so we decided not to sit down and look unconcerned but to join and make the day even bigger,” he stated.

He said the criteria for selecting the winners were chosen from Proverbs 31, hence the tagging of the promotion as ‘P31.’

“When you read Proverbs 31, four criteria stand out. One is the fact that a good mother must be supportive of the husband financially and must be a professional, not only in keeping the home.  The second is that the husband calls her ‘blessed’ because of the way she takes care of him.

“The children are also excited to have a mother who cares for them and will sacrifice to cater for them and Proverbs 31 also mentions that she caters for the poor and she opens her home to everyone,” he said.

He said the winners went through a rigorous process and they met all the four criteria as enshrined in Proverbs 31.

“We believe the people we have selected went through a rigorous process.  A lot of people came in but some were disqualified. We believe that next year, it can only be bigger,” he mentioned.
