Unique Insurance rolls out new motor package
Unique Insurance Company Limited (UIC) has rolled out a comprehensive motor package to reward drivers who drive safely and do not get involved in any accident throughout the year.

Dubbed the “No scratch promo”, the package is aimed at encouraging safe driving and minimising road accidents.
The Managing Director (MD) of Unique Insurance, Mr Victor Obeng-Adiyiah, made this known in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Accra last Tuesday.

Explaining the concept, Mr Obeng-Adiyiah said drivers who could win the packages would have to drive safely within the year without any accident or scratch on their cars.
In view of that, the company will be liaising with the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) to monitor drivers on the road throughout the year.
Mr Obeng-Adiyiah said within the year, drivers would have to ensure that they neither run into someone’s vehicle nor allow that to happen to their vehicles.
“At the end of the year, we’ll be rewarding drivers and vehicle owners with free insurance policy for the whole of 2018, car batteries, tyres and souvenirs,” he said.
He added that the company was considering offering travelling insurance policy to the winners at the end of the promo by December 2017.

He emphasised that at the end of the period, the company would assess the outcome of the promo before rolling out another package.
How one can enter
Mr Obeng-Adiyiah indicated that customers of the company automatically qualified for the promo, adding that non-customers would have to purchase a motor policy from the company before they could be eligible for the rewards.
He also stated that the package had been designed for all comprehensive and third party motorists in the country.
Additionally, he said customers would have to refer more than one client to the company, noting that the more clients they referred, the more they increased their chances.
Road accident
According to the MD, the aim of the promo was to help minimise road accidents and other motor crashes on the road.
He said he was overwhelmed by the regular road crashes which led to the loss of precious lives in the country.
“As a responsible company, we can’t sit down to hear and see a lot of lives lost through road accidents, so we thought it necessary to contribute our quota to minimise the menace,” he said.
“While our competitors focus on the market, we’ll continue to dwell on service because that has been our hallmark since our existence,” he added.
