The Excellium range of fuels have been designed to protect and prolong engine life by serving as a cleaning agent and fuel at the same time. It is said to prevent up to 93 per cent fouling in petrol engines and 89 per cent in diesel engines.

The Managing Director of Total Petroleum Ghana Limited, Mr Olivier Van Parys, said Total’s commitment to its customers had ensured that the company put innovation at the core of its business and product development.

According to him, the introduction of Excellium is the result of hard work and innovation, which ultimately aims at giving customers of Total Petroleum value for money.

“Ghana becomes the fourth country in Africa to experience the product after it was launched in Morocco, Cote d’Iviore and Uganda,” he added.

The new Marketing Manager of Total Petroleum Ghana, Mr Abdul Rahman Siddique, indicated that the Excellium range of products provided life to a vehicle’s engine.

According to him, Excellium (an enhanced fuel) helps prolong engine lifespan by “protecting it against corrosion as well as limiting wear and tear on the engine’s sensitive parts”.

He further revealed that Excellium had been formulated to clean the engine by eliminating deposits and thus enabling the engine to maintain its high performance.

“Excellium also contains detergents which help reduce fuel consumption,” he adds. “To cap it all,” he concludes, “Excellium contributes to reducing environmental pollution by helping reduce Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions onto the atmosphere.”

The French Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Francois Pujolas, commended Total Petroleum for its enormous contribution to the growth and development of the Ghanaian economy.

According to him, Total Petroleum over the years has set a very “high standard in the industry with its high product quality, safety record and giving customers value for money”.

For his part, the Minister of Transport, Mr Fifi Kwetey, underscored the importance that the petroleum industry held for the Ghanaian economy and expressed his delight at Total Petroleum’s new innovation.
