Star Oil boss adopts Worawora Hospital ward

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Star Oil Limited, Mr Vincent Kaledzi, has pledged his commitment to support the health sector to ensure an improvement in living conditions in targeted communities.

Mr Kaledzi made the pledge when he donated GH¢10,000 to the Worawora Government Hospital in the Volta Region and also adopted a ward of the hospital for support.

He said to ensure an effective healthcare system in the country, there was the need for public and private sector support, saying “our company will be available to offer support in that direction.”

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Isaac Secorm, who received the donations on behalf of the facility, thanked Mr Kaledzi for the gesture.

History

He said it was with such selflessness that the first block of the hospital was built by the community through communal labour and inaugurated in 1953.

Dr Secorm said in a speech to inaugurate the hospital, Ghana’s First President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah commended the self-help spirit of the Worawora people and granted them £80,000 which was used to construct other blocks of the hospital.
