‘Opportunities for satellite operators abound in Ghana’
The General Manager of North, West and Central Africa at SES, a global satellite operator, Mr Eric Lecocq, has said the Ghanaian market presents an opportunity for satellite operators to invest in the country.

Speaking at the launch of a new survey conducted by SES in Accra, Mr Lecocq said SES was investing in Ghana’s national broadcast landscape by supporting local businesses as part of their efforts to contribute to the digital switch-over process.
He said SES would soon announce an investment strategy in Ghana to help deepen the digital landscape.
On the survey, he said about GH¢1.5 billion was invested in the survey, which was conducted in the country.
“Three thousand interviews were conducted for this study, the first of its kind to be carried out by a satellite operator in the market where digitalisation is a key focus and a national priority,” he noted.
He added that the study provided credible statistics for the market and could be used by other industry players to further understand the broadcasting industry landscape.
Mr Lecocq said “the research results show that the African market is full of opportunities and we will continue to develop our services to support TV operators and help them grow and reach new audiences”.
“Furthermore, the research has a huge impact on countries such as Ghana, where digitisation is a major focus,” he added.
